Claudia Cantrell is a physician assistant, author, and speaker, most known for her first book, Sacred Love. She was a successful, independent career woman outwardly, but inwardly, Claudia longed for more—security, a sense of belonging, and love. Her book is the heartfelt love story of a broken woman who found extraordinary victory over loneliness, insecurity, rejection, and bad decisions. It took total surrender to Jesus Christ in order to live life abundantly.
David Cantrell is a medical doctor who has a passion for missions. While in private practice, he has been a medical director of a free medical clinic for indigent patients and a volunteer on numerous overseas medical mission trips to places such as Honduras and Ukraine. He became caretaker of his first wife until her death after a long illness, with the help of his two daughters, Katie and Kelly. When Kelly tragically died from cancer after his wife’s death, it was hard to make sense of the tragedies. He kept his eyes on Jesus.
After over 50 years of singleness, Claudia met David on a medical mission trip to Honduras—missions being near and dear to their hearts. She admired his compassion from a distance. He admired her care for patients and thought she was cute. After three years of chance run-ins at the grocery store, David finally got the courage to ask Claudia on a date. Within a year, they were married.
Together they enjoy water sports, hiking, biking, attending plays, listening to jazz, traveling, and love dogs. They have been to places such as Honduras, Ukraine, Greece, China, Jordan, Israel, Costa Rica, Mexico, the Caribbean, and several European countries. Their church, First Baptist Church of Woodstock, Georgia, is their community of believers with whom they love and serve others.
Both now seek to help people find their identity in Jesus Christ. Whether they meet people through mission trips, in their community, or through speaking events, Claudia and David live their lives to the glory of God.
